Android OS continues to be the most important operating system for smartphones in the US with 52% market share in the first quarter of 2013, according to the latest numbers released by comScore. Android is still reigning, even if the percents dropped a little bit from December of 2012, when the market share for Android OS was slightly above 53.4 %, yet the difference is minimal.
Blackberry OS also lost in popularity, now with only 5.2% market share from a previous 6.4% in 2012, Symbian too lost 0.1%, but Apple’s iOS gained some momentum in the first quarter of 2013, with 39% market share, a 2.7% improvement from the latest figures in December 2012. Microsoft managed to improve its market share with an insignificant 0.1% from 2.9% to 3%.
